Q 1. Using Boyle's law, explain what happens in the lungs for inhalation and exhalation to occur.
2.Explain how increased altitude affects respiration. Explain what happens to the partial pressure gradient.
1. According to Boyle’s law , the pressure of a given mass of an ideal gas is inversely proportional to its volume at a constant temperature . During the process of inhalation, the lungs expands and the volume inside the lungs increases and the pressure inside decreases and air moves from the outside to the inside. This process leads to inhalation .During the process of exhalation, the volume inside the lungs decreases and the pressure increases and as a result the air moves out .
