Lesson 8 Assignment 2

Lesson 8 Assignment 2

Q For this assignment, your company needs to decide what your brand is. What sets you apart from other companies offering the same products or similar services? How will you sell your brand? To do that, you need to brainstorm and determine five things about your company, product/service, and tone that separates you from the competition. You can look at company mission statements for an idea of their brand, but you will also find echoes of that brand in the layout, social media tone, and any printed materials from a company. For example, you know what a Starbucks looks like if you have ever been inside one. That one idea is transferred to all other locations. The design language, the color scheme, the layout of the register and machines, the menu, etc. That design language, coupled with a social media presence that focuses on awareness of political and eco- situations (even when their own policies don’t necessarily abide by them – note, for example only. I am not calling out the company here), and taking care of its employees through offering benefits to even part-time employees, is their brand. Your company brand needs not be that extensive, but it gives you an opportunity to consider it. Look at the release you crafted for the founding of your company and determine what your brand will be moving forward. Assignment Instructions Submission – You will submit five words or short bullet points that encapsulate who you want to be as a company in relation to your product/service, in addition to a paragraph that explains the brand so I can see how the words or short phrases work with the overall idea. Total length should be under 200 words. The term brand refers to a feature, symbol, design, term, or even a name that identifies a company’s products and distinguishes them from those of other companies operating in the same market or industry. It can also be defined as an image or idea that people have in their minds when they think of a particular product, service, and company activities. A brand entails also the kind of emotional feeling that customers develop when they think of a particular product (Marion, 2022).
