For this entry: • Describe an area of interpersonal communication that you view as a personal weakness. • Describe what the behavior is and how and/or why it is a weakness. • Use the text to gather additional information about the behavior and summarize your research (i.e. what does the research say about this particular area of interpersonal communication?). Try to connect to 2 to 3 specific concepts from the textbook (for example, you might look at particular elements of listening skills, non-verbal communication, decoding meaning, etc.) • Discuss 3 - 5 specific action steps you can take to address this behavior (i.e. provide bullets explaining how you are going to work on becoming more aware/sensitive to the behavior, how you will try to address it / alter your behavior, and the positive implications of making these changes). As a young adult, I am learning that non-verbal communication is one of the most important skills for me to master. I have always been the type of person to either show all my emotions through my facial expressions and body language or show no sign of emotion whatsoever. Unfortunately, I have never seemed to be able to find a balance. Showing my emotions has not always been a good thing for me and I have gotten myself into some awkward situations due to my non-verbal communication skills
