There is absolutely no denying the fact that many archetypes can be found in The Odyssey. The first one worth mentioning is the quest which is of immense importance in this epic poem. It is basically connected with the return to Ithaca to regain throne. Apart from that, another essential archetype is the magic weapon in this epic poem. There is a long bow noted in this poem which was mainly used by Odysseus because he was able to string it and then shoot through 12 axe handles. Next archetype found in this epic poem is the battle between the good and the evil. It is mostly there in majority of the epics. Here it can be seen as the suitors fight with one another. The final one is the concept of death and rebirth which is evident when Odysseus returns from the underworld. Through archetypical hero, Odysseus and his journey, the epic poem has been created gradually.
