Some important thoughts of mine on the final Hermeneutics Paper1.Consider this:a.Check the passage with me, if you decide not todo one of the suggested onesb.Avoid researching lists [fruit of the Spirit, beatitudes, armor of God, etc.]c.There are plenty of references, even for a paragraph of Scripture, so don’t select a long passage. It will overwhelm you.d.Okay to use SIM passages [Micah, John, Eph]e.START EARLY; other sections are doing HPs, too.2.To be more concise, avoid writing, “In Walt Russell’s book, Playing with Fire, he explains...” It would be better to say, “Russell explains...” I’ll know the source by glancing at the footnote.3.Remember to summarize your interpretation of the passage. It’s that last bullet point under point V. Point V should be your most involved section as you interact with recommended commentaries at each verse. 4.Italicize lectio. It’s Latin.5.It’s Word BiblicalCommentary, not World.6.There should be no parenthetical citations in the text of your paper.7.Remember to situate your passage, explaining how it fits into what precedes and follows it.8.Avoid stringing cited sentences together in your paragraphs.9.Address your verse-by-verse work using separate paragraphs.10.Use American English (toward, not towards; backward, not backwards, amid, not amidst).11.The sources listed in your bibliography should be listed in alphabetical order. As you’ve used the Turabian document as a formatting guide for footnotes, it also gives examples of the bibliographic formats.12.I will look at your bibliography first to check the recommended sources you’ve used and then how you’ve used them. 13.There may be two sets of eyes reviewing your paper. Once I have reviewed all of the papers and have added my comments and score, the assignment will then be unmuted on Canvas. My TAs and I will do our best to get these graded as quickly as possible.14.Remember not to hide the library commentaries. Scan and send the pages you need to yourself. It’s free at the copy machines in the library. 15.Canvas usesa plagiarism programin its system. Please do the best YOU can with all you have been given. 16.Longest HP ~ 22 pages; Certainly not the norm!17.Point VI.D(your personal reflection on this project) is not a part of 8 pages
