Q In recent decades, there has been an increase in health/medical based dramatic television shows, such as House, M.D., Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, reality based medical television shows, like Untold Stories of the E.R. or medical based talk shows like Dr. Oz. Do you happen to view any shows of this content? If so, which one is your favorite? If not, why? How might these television shows contribute to a sociological examination of health in society? How do you believe the introduction of the internet has changed the populous access to and interpretation of medical information? Has this been an overall positive or negative addition to health care (please utilize a resource to research this)?

House was the show that I enjoyed watching, due to the witty and sarcastic nature of the main character House. That is the only show out of previous and current medical dramas or reality shows that I have viewed. House was an entertaining physician (character) because of the way in which he approached his practice of medicine, the way he treated patients and their family members, as well as the way he interacted with his colleagues. He was unique from other physicians because he really lacked the bedside manner that most personalities on these shows demonstrate; furthermore, the bedside manner that most patients and their families even desire. His approach was quirky but came from experience, intellect, and a sixth sense about sickness, diagnosis, and recovery.
