The history of my family is fairly straightforward. We all belong from a fairly advanced family background and are all African American in our heritage. We take pride in our race but are warm and welcoming towards people belonging to any other race, religion or culture. We have spent thanksgiving with Latino families, and have been a part of their festivities. One of the fundamental things that my parents always taught me was that I should never return hatred back to those who are prejudiced towards me. Whether it is because of race, or any other personal reason, I was always taught to spread love and positivity.
