Friendship is one of the major and recurring themes in the novel The Kite Runner. Most importantly, friendship is important in the novel because it has been portrayed within different class systems and caste, which otherwise becomes a barrier to maintaining a relationship. The author has portrayed the friendship between Baba-Ali and Amir-Hassan. Both Baba and Amir are Pashtun, while Ali and Hassan are Hazara; despite the difference, the author explores the strong bond and relationship between the two different castes. The most interesting fact in the novel is to understand and explore the layers of friendship among the differences in social status.
