The epidemiologic triangle comprises of the agent, the host, and the environment, to describe and explain how an organism responsible for diseases spreads and the conditions favorable for it. The agent is the factor, the presence of which, is essential for the cause of the disease, like a virus, and without this factor, the disease would not be possible at all.
