Emphasize Your Strengths

Emphasize Your Strengths

Q Probably the second most popular question in a job interview or when first meeting a potential equity investor is, please share your strengths and weaknesses with us. I'm not a fan of focusing on one's weaknesses as economic theory teaches us that we achiever greater success by emphasizing our strengths. Create a list of your ten greatest strengths. If you can't think of ten yourself, please visit with family and/or friends and ask them to share what they believe you are good at. Think about your achievements, compliments that you have received, and/or compliments people have shared with you. Based on these ten strengths, see if you can create a list of ideas that build off your strengths. Finally, analyze this idea list and create another list of possible businesses that you could start or business that would utilize your strengths. To get full credit, you should review the postings of your classmates and provide input/feedback on their information. Can you help chip in some ideas for them based on their strengths? If you are struggling for ideas yourself, ask/invite/beg your classmates for input. This discussion topic is worth 20 points.
