Dispatches is a book on war written by Michael Herr in 1977 and was published in New York. Michael Herr wrote this book after he spent almost eighteen months in Vietnam during the war in 1967 and he went there as a journalist for a magazine. What is unique about this book is that even being a book on war it does not discusses war events rather it gives an experience of the soldiers who fight the war and the journalists who are there to report the war.
