According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the employees are motivated based on the fulfillment of their needs. In case any of the needs of the levels presented in the hierarchical structure are not fulfilled by the management of an organization, the employees will not be motivated. Scholars have put emphasis on the need of esteem and self actualization when it comes to motivation. An employee will always have the need of responsibilities. At the same time, the employee will always have the need of utilization of own potentials.
