Q Directions: The discussion board is intended as a place where students can build a community to enrich their writing experience. Posts must have depth of reflection and must be written following correct grammatical rules. Remember that this is not a tweet or text, but rather a professional discussion space. Posts should be approximately 5-7 sentences and will be evaluated based on the quality of the thoughts that you express. Each week, you must post to the discussion board twice. One post must be a response to the provided topic. The other post must be a response to another person’s post. You will receive ONE grade each week that combines both posts. PROMPT: This week you must discuss your choice of topic for the Cause OR Effect essay. What topic did you choose and how does it relate to a past, present, or future job/career of yours? What influenced your decision to write about causes OR effects of your topic? In your response to another person's post, comment on his/her choice of topic with either helpful suggestions to enhance the topic and/or thoughtful questions that might help the writer examine the topic from other angles/perspectives. Discussions are worth 2 points. You must post to the discussion before you can view other people's posts. This assignment is graded on a rubric. To see the rubric, click the three dots on the upper right-hand corner. Then click Show Rubric to see the discussion rubric.
