Xenophane of Colophon was a renowned philosopher, theologian and a scientist. While he is best remembered for novel criticism anthropomorphism in religion, he also has abundant contribution in writing poetry in iambic hexameter and also for composing elegies. In addition to that, it has further been evidenced that he also had significant thoughts regarding the denial of criterion of truth. In Xenophane’s writings traces of skepticism also can be found. Xenophane emphatically satirized traditional views regarding Gods and also argued that the existence of God is fundamentally anthropomorphic.
