Discussion The first two years
Q How did the first two years of the war go, both on the land and on the sea? Why did military leaders value defensive positions? What problems did both armies face? After two years of fighting, who was winning? Why?
During the first two years, there had been the members of the Union who had surrendered by running away from war. Southern ports had been completely blockaded by the ships of the Union troops. There had been transition of power from one hand to another. This is because there had been balance of power not resting in the hands of one controller or controller of one area/region. There had not been much influence of the Democratic Party left to be enjoyed as it had been before the war. There had been the emergence of the influential capabilities of the members of the Republican Party.
