Holy Anorectics or Anorexia is referred to the “miraculous lack of appetite” and it was one of the most prevalent phenomenon during the Middle Age era. This practice was noticed among the young women in the middle age. It have been further learnt that the Holy Anorexics were considered as women who is a ‘supernatural piety’. In addition, young women who practiced anorectics were consecrated or they were made saints because of the dedication they have for carrying on with this practice for a longer period (Tait, 1993).
