The New Kingdom (c. 1570- c. 1096 BCE) started after the Second Intermediate Period. The consequence of the breakdown of orders in the late 19th and 20th Dynasties was the disunity that was seen in the First Intermediate and Second Intermediate period. There was no strong central government once again in Egypt because of the breakdown of the order and the policies that helped the empire to survive were no longer effective. This is evident in the administration of Ramessid pharaohs whose competency was little in administration and military after Rameses III. Moreover, the New Kingdom and the 20th Dynasty was destroyed when the nation was divided by the priests of Amun who became extremely powerful and they usurped the throne.
