Her speech came off incredibly strong and powerful because she said exactly what she wanted to say without seeming to be afraid. She voiced how she felt, used great body language, pronunciation and volume when speaking about her personal experiences. "Though I am white and a mother, I am one with a black infant struggling with tubes in a Philadelphia hospital...I am one with the lonely gay man sheltering a flickering candle from the cold wind of his family 's rejection."
