The Civil Rights Movement aimed at mainly securing rights for African Americans as the citizens of the United States. But if we look at the broader goal then it also worked to improve the overall society of the United States. The Civil Rights Movement inspired women, the people of LGBT community to stand up for their rights and fight for equality in their nation. It worked on making the society more independent with fewer divisions within society so that the nation of the United States could grow more economically, socially, as well as politically.
