I saw the video titled “The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and English Language Learners (ELLs)” by Wayne Wright. The video starts off with the information that NCLB (No Child Left Behind Act of 2001) will be replaced with ESSA or The Every Student Succeeds Act. Definitely there will be some effect of this change in the ELLs or English language learners. This ESSA is the primary federal law which concerns the K-12 general education. Under it all students of the public schools are taken account of. ESSA was passed in the year 2015 and full implementation started in 2017-18. The NCLB and ESSA has many things in common as well as there are many differences too.
