1. Wilson’s original sentence was to serve eleven years in prison and upon release, he would have to register as a sex offender. The law was changed making his behavior a would be misdemeanor if a Wilson had committed the crime at the time of the change. The guidelines are as follows, if the victim is at least 13 years of age but young than 16, and if both individuals involved are under 18 and/or there no more than a four year age gap between them. 2. The Georgia court ended up ruling that Wilson’s punishment was cruel and unusual because the law had changed right after his case making what was once a felony, a simple misdemeanor.
