Q I love hearing the creative ways businesses, organizations, or individuals go out of their way to help others. Many companies are being challenged to find new ways to serve their customers due to social distancing requirements. For this discussion, please share a recent story highlighting a creative response to COVID-19 by a company or organization. What are they doing differently to serve their customers in unique ways? What new ideas in business practices and customer service are being implemented? What is unique about their efforts and how is it meeting consumers' needs and expectations? MY EXAMPLE: I am a beach girl at heart and I am looking forward to getting back to regular beach visits when it is safe. Pinellas County (which includes some of my favorite beaches in St. Petersburg, Indian Rocks, and Clearwater) implemented a new service on their mobile app to let people know which beaches are open. In addition, data is updated regularly and area beaches are highlighted in green (low crowd, easy social distancing), yellow (crowds increasing, social distancing may be a challenge), and red (high crowds, beach is closed). This is a great service to community residents who want to stay safe while enjoying some sun, sand, and ocean waves.
