I have been learning so much about projection lately and how others can, and always, are projecting their fears and insecurities onto others in order to make themselves feel better. The passage, "The '90s Culture of Xenophobia: Beyond the Tortilla Curtain" by Gomez-Pena describes how people, like whites, blame Latinos for issues that we have in the US because it is easier to do so than take accountability.
