Equality is accomplished in "Harrison Bergeron" by lowering each person to the societal lowest common denominator. Harrison symbolizes the portion of the American public that still wants to put out the effort, display their talents, and outperform their colleagues. Harrison is a physical specimen at fourteen years old, standing seven feet tall, incredibly muscular, and exceedingly attractive. He wants to live his life as an unrestricted human being and refuses to respect the rules of the government
