Today is October 4th and the news channels are busy showing the launch of Sputnik by the Soviet Union. I am having a mixed reaction to this. As a citizen of the United States I always hoped and expected that my country will be the first one to send a satellite to the space. But Soviet Union got ahead of us and they are leading the space race now. This makes me little sad. But as a whole, I am happy that history has been created by human beings. Even though, I would have been happier if USA would have been the first country to achieve this feat.
