Islam contributes to the arts in several ways. Islamic art is generally characterized by the recurrent motifs. There are huge usage of vegetal and flower design and geometrical design in Islamic art. On the other hand, it can be stated that Islamic art is truly influenced by the artistic styles. Islamic art involves Persian art, Roman and Byzantine art in a proper manner. Contribution of Islam as religion is immense on miniature, calligraphy, sculpture, building, and textile arts, such as embroidery and carpets. It has been also observed that the gradual development of Islamic art has been influenced by religious restrictions. Following the ideas of Prophet Mohammad, the believers of Islam has tried to make ornamental designs by not imitating the Almighty God but the living things. Even in the Quran, there is mention of different kind of art forms.
