Ethos, Pathos, and Logos are the different modes of persuasion that you can appeal to in your speeches. If you are trying to convince the audience to do or believe something (like which album should be sent into space to represent humankind), you'll want to use these three different odes of persuasion. I want you to do a couple of things for the DQ: 1. First, I want you to define ethos, pathos, and logos. You do not need a super long explanation of each but I want to see that you understand what they are at a basic level. 2. I want you to watch these three commercial videos that I have pasted below. All three use one or more of the three modes of persuasion and I want you to identify and explain which modes of persuasion each commercial uses. Please do not forget to explain why you believe the commercial is using ethos, pathos, and/or logos. Will you appeal to the audience's emotion in the content of what it is that you are saying? Think about HOW you are going to be persuasive in your speech. We have all used ethos pathos, and logos in our everyday lives when we are trying to persuade or convince someone to take our side of an argument. There are many ways that you can use these modes of persuasion, you can do so both verbally and nonverbally. Try to think of all your performance choices and how they can influence your persuasiveness.
